Policy Overview
1. Eligibility for Returns & Refunds
This section details when and how you might be eligible for a return or refund. It covers both the initial period after pickup and the manufacturer’s warranty.
A. Initial Return Period (14 Days from Pickup Date)
You may be eligible for a full refund or exchange if you return the Chromebook and Chrome Upgrade License within fourteen (14) calendar days from the date of pickup at the GIS IT Manager’s office, provided the following conditions are met:
- The Chromebook is in its original, undamaged condition, free from any physical or liquid damage.
- All original packaging, accessories (charger, cables, manuals), and the complimentary carrying pouch (if already picked up) are included.
- The Chrome Upgrade License has not been activated or assigned to a Google account. If the license has been activated, its value may be deducted from the refund.
- A valid receipt of purchase from Yazi is provided.
B. Manufacturer Warranty (1 Year from Purchase Date)
All Chromebooks purchased from Yazi come with a one (1) year manufacturer’s warranty covering defects in materials and workmanship. This warranty period begins from the original date of purchase.
- What it covers: Hardware malfunctions, manufacturing defects, and issues not caused by accidental damage, misuse, or unauthorized repairs.
- Process for Warranty Claims: If your Chromebook experiences a defect covered by the manufacturer’s warranty after the initial 14-day return period, please contact Yazi Support immediately. We will guide you through the manufacturer’s warranty claim process, which typically involves repair or replacement directly through the manufacturer. Yazi will act as a facilitator in this process to ensure you receive the necessary support.
- Exclusions: The manufacturer warranty does not cover accidental damage (e.g., drops, spills), cosmetic damage, normal wear and tear, lost or stolen devices, or issues arising from unauthorized modifications or repairs.
2. Non-Refundable Items/Situations
This section lists items or situations that are generally not eligible for a refund. Understanding these exceptions is important.
- Chromebooks returned after the 14-day initial return period, unless covered by a valid manufacturer’s warranty claim.
- Chromebooks with physical damage, liquid damage, or signs of misuse.
- Chromebooks missing original packaging or essential accessories.
- Activated or assigned Chrome Upgrade Licenses (the cost of the license may be non-refundable or deducted from the total refund).
- Any third-party software or services purchased separately.
- Shipping costs (if applicable, though pickup is standard for GIS).
3. How to Initiate a Return or Warranty Claim
If you need to make a return or warranty claim, these are the steps to follow. Clear communication helps us process your request efficiently.

- Provide Details: Include your name, the parent’s name on the receipt, receipt number, date of purchase, the Chromebook’s serial number, and a detailed description of the issue or reason for return.
- Await Instructions: Our support team will review your request and provide you with specific instructions on how to proceed, including return authorization (if applicable) and shipping details (if required for warranty service).
4. Refund Process
This section explains how refunds are processed once a return is approved or a warranty claim results in a refund.
- Refunds will be processed to the original payment method used for the purchase.
- Please allow 5-10 business days for the refund to appear on your statement, depending on your bank or credit card company’s processing times.
- If the Chrome Upgrade License was activated, its cost may be deducted from the total refund amount.
5. Changes to This Policy
This section addresses how and when this policy might be updated. We strive to keep our policies current and transparent.
Yazi reserves the right to modify this Return and Refund Policy at any time. Any changes will be posted on our website and will be effective immediately upon posting.
